You must have also realized that your appetite doubles as the cold increases and you start eating more directly because of this. Even many times your body does not need to eat but your mind constantly thinks of eating.
The result of this is that we constantly eat things like snacks and then worry about increasing weight. However, there are many other reasons behind this besides your genetics.
Why you feel more hungry in winter?
Gloomy weather
The winter season looks very sad. Sun does not come, people get less out due to cold, there is fog on every side, there is chill, which causes many people to get upset and hence it is called sad weather. According to research, most people suffer from SAD i.e. Seasonal Affective Disorder in cold weather. This is the reason why they also eat more.
Dehydration
In winter, thirst seems to be less compared to summer, so people drink less water, due to which the body gets dehydration. Hence the problem of dehydration is usually seen in winter. Apart from this, heaters and warm clothes running in the house also dehydrate the body. In such a situation, when our body needs water, our brain makes the mistake of considering it as hunger and we eat more.
Temperature
As the weather cools down, our body starts working harder to warm itself. Therefore, the body needs more calories for more energy. When this happens, our brain gets a signal that we should wear more clothes and eat calorie-rich food. During this time we do not even know how much we are eating.
