The Indian Army has purchased Twelve high-performance boats to deal with China's tactics. Delivery of these boats will also start from May 2021. The boats will be operated and maintained by the Indian Army Engineers. The purchase has been made to monitor Pangong Lake in eastern Ladakh amid ongoing tensions with China recently. India and China have been facing to face in the region since May last year.
For this, the Army has signed an agreement with Goa Shipyard Limited. Under this, 12 patrolling boats will be assigned to the army. The army has tweeted and said that by May 2021 the supply of the boat will begin. These boats will be used for patrolling and surveillance. Goa Shipyard Limited has said that on Thursday it has tied up with the Army for the supply of special patrol boats. These boats will have special equipment to meet the force requirements.
Explain that the total length of Pangong Lake is 134 km and it is divided into eight fingers. The lake freezes with the onset of winter. So by summer, the army will deploy the boats to the lake. According to information, these boats are capable of carrying a considerable amount of arms and ammunition along with 25 to 30 soldiers. A source said that the capacity of these boats will be better than the Chinese boats deployed in the lake and the speed will be higher than the Chinese boats.
